Since 1970, I have played the same, my first, Selmer Tenor saxophone.

I acquired  an Alto saxophone  around 1990, and in 2007, a Yanigasawa curved soprano.

All now with brass resonators overhauled and maintained by Ivan Lukyanets in Encino CA.

Since 2010, I have been using SR Technologies: Europa on Tenor and Legend on Alto.

On  Soprano, a Selmer Super Session. All with Oleg ligatures.

In 2021, Oleg optimized all my saxes, more specifically, the necks.

A hefty investment indeed, however Oleg transformed my horns

to a whole new level of intonation and playability.

Prior to 2010, I used metal Beechler Bellite mouthpieces.

After NAMM 2024, I returned to Lavoz cane saxophone reeds.

My experience with Legere synthetics is well documented on my review page.

The reason I switched back was mostly because of the discovery of the ReedGeek reed tool.

Like many saxophonists worrying about ruining reeds kept me from working on them.

Therefore I was resigned to deal with accepting subpar performance and longevity from my reeds.

Mauro DiGiola,  inventor of the ReedGeek tools provided all the techniques on using ReedGeek tools.

My only additional tip I can add after 6 months: I find I can trust making adjustments to the cane

by visual density with regard to the shape of the heart of the reed. It has been very reliable for me.
